Our Believe
We believe international volunteering promotes cross-cultural learning and exchanges that triggers the wheels of positive change into action through the utilization of skills, exchange of ideas, global awareness, and friendship. We believe that societies have different needs and require different assistance. We do not step in to identify and solve their problems for them. We work with them in identifying problems and developing solutions. They are the major beneciaries thus should be the major stakeholders in the share of interest and concern. This we expect all our gallant participants to embrace so that the seeds you sow in your short time of participation shall be nutured by the beneficiaries to growth.
Our Offices and Staff
Guided by our believes, We have offices and staff are in the communities of our core beneficiaries. This also help us much in maintaining low cost on administration, yet achieving effective projects monitoring, closeness to volunteers on the field and first hand knowledge of the various projects terrain. Elghana sees it more strategic, purposeful and beneficial to maintain our headoffice in Africa. We have chosen to maintain a central office in Ghana due to its political stability and growing deepened democracy, rule of law and its assorted cultural, ecological and religious diversity providing at least a bit of each part of Africa. Our large family, the staffs in Ghana, our in-country coordinators and associate staff in the countries we work in Africa are strongly committed to offer our volunteers high quality and enriching volunteer and internship experience with captivating cultural immersion.
In each project region, Elghana maintains an office of a local coordinator whose job is to support our volunteers. Our coordinators have a distinguished and successful history of working with international volunteers. Most of our coordinators have served in a variety of service-oriented occupations: as expedition leaders, social workers, trek leaders, teachers, and other professions before they joined Elghana.
The strong presence in Africa also means we are providing employment to young people from a very deprived part of our dear world. It also turns out to be that these people are the best positioned to serve foreign visitors, since they have been born and raised within these communities with full knowledge and understanding of the people and their cultures. You are more secured and well placed with such people who have job security from Elghana. They are the best to offer guidance, support and answers to your questions. With their experience gained working with several hundreds of volunteers, international workshops and travels, the staff also have multicultural skills, handy in understanding and supporting each volunteer. Being youthful and lively, expect to have the best among the best who know all the corners and spots for interesting activities, sightseeing and leisure.
