And Elghana provides you with this opportunity. No previous journalism experience is required. However you should be fluent in English, a journalist, writer, bloger or a prospective one for that matter. The programmes are available for anyone on a gap-year looking to get into a related university course, or those looking for relevant work experience following graduation, or more experienced journalists looking for an international experience to get their journalism career to another level.
Working alongside local journalists and other international volunteers, you will be given a range of responsibilities. Depending on your interest and/or previous experience, you may be behind-the-scene or in front of the camera. You can choose to work on our Print Journalism placement or on the Broadcast placement. In the print journalism placement, you could be working for a local sports newspaper, a general interest newspaper or magazine. You will be involved in the day to day gathering of news and coverage of events. Orientation is giving. On whichever placement you choose, you will be getting very real, hands-on experience and the opportunity to make a valid contribution.
