Teach children

In the rural communities of our project countries, educational infrastructures are challenged and the lack of amenities further deter many professional teachers accepting posting to those areas for long term stay. This has also caused serious lack of teachers, with a teacher averagely handling more than one class, classes have to stay without a teacher during some sessions because the teacher might be teaching in a different class.

Individuals have put up school structures to make up for the government shortfalls but they cannot charge enough fees to have enough money to attract quality teachers.

There are two major areas we need volunteers to come in and help, ie, helping the children improve their English by reading and sharing with them stories from children books, and getting them to catch up with their peers in the fast world by introducing them to the use of a computer and social networking like instagram, etc.

Your creativity will be useful, using games, dramatizations, etc in any of the two giving responsibilities make it more fun.

Our strategy is that if the students can pick up and love reading, then they can sometimes make up for the absence of a teacher by trying to read and discuss their textbooks among themselves. And if they learn to use the computer or how to hook up on social networking, they will begin to get self motivation as they make friends from around the world, causing them to work hard and break the cycle of poverty and all its associated problems.

We do not need you to be skilled to pick up this opportunity to teach these needy children. Any of the major needs we have can be performed by anyone from high school upward, and if English is not your first language, you can help out with the social network and basic computer use lessons. We would love to have people who can teach basic french to help out in Ghana where French is supposed to be taught to all basic students but due to the lack of teachers, few schools pursue that.

And if you are a trained teacher or someone with more skill who can do more than we need, we are happy to get you to help in areas like mathematics and science.

If you are experienced or a skilled person in a technical education, you can help out at the training centers for the youth which trains them for employable skills like sewing, bricklaying, auto-mechanics, etc.

We are happy to welcome you in any of our project countries.
